Health Equity Accelerator Leadership (H.E.A.L) Society

Who
We Are

HEAL Society (Health Equity Accelerator Leadership Society) is a global student-led movement committed to advancing health equity, leadership, and research-driven action within universities and communities.

We exist at the intersection of people, policy, and practice building young leaders who do not just study health, but actively shape how health is accessed, experienced, and protected.

HEAL Society operates as a leadership and implementation arm of the Slum and Rural Health Initiative (SRHIN), with chapters across universities and a growing global network of fellows, volunteers, and partners.

Health inequities are not abstract concepts. They are lived realities shaped by geography, poverty, gender, access to information, and broken systems.
HEAL Society was created to ensure that young people are not passive observers of these inequities, but trained actors capable of:

  1. Understanding health disparities deeply
  2. Designing ethical, community-centered solutions
  3. Translating research into action
  4. Leading with empathy, evidence, and accountability
  5. We believe universities are not just places of learning, they are incubators for change.
